Graduation

Hi all,

It has been some time without posts...some time??? Almost half a year.
I have great news!!! The last 3 months I have done selection for Transavia Airlines. transavia.com to be totally exact.

I've done interviews, psychological testing, medical examination and screening by our government. The interviews went well. The test results resulted in a positive advice. Finally, the medical and screening where okay. Result...I've been offered a position as Junior First Officer Boeing 737 at transavia.com!!! I will start my training on January 16th.

More good news...I'm not alone! More class members are joining me. Leon de Smeth will also start together with me. My roommate Sebastiaan Verweij and Graham Jeffrey will start 1 and 2 weeks later with their training. Students from other NLS classes have also done successfully selection.

I started together with 11 other students at 27 October 2003. It looks so far away but I know it isn't. It has been a wonderful time!!! The first 8 months were pretty tough but most of us managed to go to Portugal as A class. Portugal has been an experience nobody forgets. Living at the hotel, the weekends, Friday afternoon "borrels", Praxis, Bar in, Beer garden, restaurant Italiano, "ontgroeningen" and balcony parties. Don't forget the swimming pool, tennis court and soccer games we have played.

Did I mention AAE yet? The planes we flew! TB200 divertion training in the early morning around Beja chatting with each other on 123.45. Hearing EVORAAAA when signing in with evora information. Solo cross countries to Portimao, Montargil, Coimbra, Aveiro. David with his eyebrow above his sun glasses. Endless discussions about pick up times. TB20 IFR flying. Night flying in Seville with Robert and Acilona was great. Happy to fly solo divertions on the TB20. Seneca V was multi engine at it's best. Endless delays and holdings at Beja.

Jeroen and Fabian were the first NLSers to do MCC A320 in Madrid. Back at Beek and Brussel we had a very well done MCC training. The sim was old but it did the job well!

But everything has his end. We are moving on and hopefully all of us will find a career in commercial aviation soon. I'm extremely glad I can start as Junior First Officer on the Boeing 737 at transavia.com. I'm extremely fortunate I found work so quickly and in the Netherlands. But working for transavia has been a little boys dream...
